Coaching for the Eastside Tsunami Youth Rugby Club

Eastside Tsunami Youth Rugby is excited to welcome passionate volunteers to our coaching team. We believe diversity is our strength and encourage applicants from all backgrounds to bring their skills, energy, and love of the game to our players. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis by the Board of Directors, with qualified candidates invited to interview via Zoom in January. Positions will remain open until filled.

If selected, all volunteer coaches will be required to complete the following:

  • Register as a coach with USA Rugby annually
  • Pass a biennial background screening
  • Complete USOPC SafeSport Training
  • Complete Concussion Management Training
  • Complete a Coach Certification Course

The Head Coach is heart of the team on the field. The Head Coach plans fun, safe practices, teaches rugby skills, builds confidence, and sets a positive team culture. They also mentor and coordinate assistant coaches to make sure everyone is aligned and supported.

The Club Manager is the behind-the-scenes glue that keeps things running. The Club Manager handles schedules, communication with Rugby Oregon, and other logistics, and works closely with the Board to connect with families and volunteers so the season runs smoothly.
